Organization Donates $5,000 to Community Food Bank of New Jersey
HILLSIDE, N.J. (July 23, 2026) – The Commercial Real Estate Development Association, New Jersey Chapter (CREDA NJ) once again hosted their Community Action Food Drive & Volunteer Day, partnering with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) in Hillside for a memorable day of generosity and impact. Nearly 90 people volunteered throughout the day, including CREDA staff, members and colleagues joining together in the fight against hunger.
According to CFBNJ, volunteers at CREDA’s morning and afternoon shifts combined for over 200 hours worked. In the morning, volunteers packed 1,080 SFSP meal kits, along with 420 boxes for seniors. In the afternoon, 1,746 bags of pasta were packed and 360 pounds of chicken were prepared. The work of CREDA and its volunteers supported an average of over 18,000 meals throughout the course of the day.
“We are very grateful for the work that CFBNJ does for families in our communities, and we thank them for having us again this year,” said Dan Kennedy, CREDA NJ CEO. “This experience is always a meaningful opportunity to step up and make a real difference for our neighbors throughout New Jersey. We were so glad to see so many people come out and volunteer their time.” In addition to hosting the volunteer day, CREDA NJ also pledged to donate $5,000 to CFBNJ.
The Community Food Bank of New Jersey is the largest anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization in the state. A member of Feeding America, CFBNJ works to end hunger by distributing food to more than 800 community partners, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other feeding programs. The organization distributes over 90 million nutritious meals annually.
